Fun, Non-Traditional Bridesmaid Gifts

Today I’m really excited to have Jeriann of Dairy Air Head on my blog as she is currently a bride-to-be planning her own wedding. As I’m sure many of you brides-to-be will know, it can be difficult to think of fun, quirky, unusual, personal presents for your bridesmaids, and to give you some unique ideas, Jeriann has put together a list of her top 3 ideas for non-traditional bridesmaids gifts.

Brides love to spoil their bridesmaids, and they should! Bridesmaids do a ton of work and are great emotional support for any bride. But the sea of monogrammed champagne flutes and tote bags gets a bit generic after a point. Below are some ideas for picking personalized bridesmaid gifts that your ladies will cherish and enjoy.

Feed Their Love of Wine

As the plethora of Zooey Deschanel memes on the internet indicates, wine is super popular right now, especially with millennial women. In your bridal party, it’s likely you’ll have some wine lovers. Why not purchase mini, personalized wine bottles and fill them with your bridesmaids’ favourite wine? A personalised wine label to express your thanks will add that extra special touch. The options could go far beyond wine, even. You could also get wine magazine subscriptions, small wine racks for their collection, and even wine cellar accessories.

Remember, you don’t have to get everyone the same gifts, and it will be more personal and thoughtful if you don’t! Just be sure to stay in the same value range so no one feels jealous of another’s gift.

Accessorise Their Wedding Outfit

Bridesmaids are often expected to buy their own dresses, but that doesn’t mean you can’t help them accessorise! Scarves, hats, clutches, necklaces, earrings, and even shoes make great bridesmaid gifts. If you’re buying the jewellery, just be sure to let your girls know that you’ve got it covered, otherwise they may make accessory plans and purchases of their own.

Give Them Fun Things to Do

You know what is way more valuable than monogrammed trinkets that build up in your drawers? Experiences.  Do you have adventurous bridesmaids? Go Zip lining or do a ropes course as a bonding experience! Do your friends love to play games? Get everyone a classic or special edition version of their favourite board game or card game. If your bridesmaids love spas (who doesn’t?!), treat them to a fun detox weekend of yoga, massages and green smoothies. Or how about a fun post-wedding photo shoot altogether?
