3 of the Hottest Wedding Trends for 2016/17

There’s a lot to love about this years wedding trends, from hand-painted cakes to metallic wedding palettes, this year’s style is on point and is even more creative than ever. From thousands of images on Pinterest and top blogs, I have carefully hand selected three of the hottest wedding trends for 2016/17 and I can’t wait to share them with you!

1. Jump into your bridal suit!
From modern, city-chic to fun, flirty lace, bridal jumpsuits were in vogue at the Spring 2016 fashion shows and are predicted to be one of the hottest trends for 2017 brides-to-be. Don’t fancy wearing a wedding dress? Wedding jumpsuits are a fab alternative. From sophisticated suit styles to ethereal, delicate styles, there is a jumpsuit for everyone!

2. Rockin’ agate and geode trends
Agate is an ornamental stone which has a marbled look and geodes are crystal-lined rocks – both of these beauties come in all colours and sizes and you can incorporate inspired designs within much of your wedding décor. From geode-inspired cakes (the crystal look in the cake is created by using rock candy!) to thin, vibrant agate slices used as place cards, this trend is definitely for the style-savvy couple. I’m a huge fan of agate and geode, I think it’s a great way to add strong vibrancy and colour to your wedding. Check out lots of different ways you can use agate and geode to inspire your wedding style!

3. Industrial-chic for the city couple!
Another trend I’m loving this year is the industrial chic style. The ideal setting for this beauty of a wedding would be an old warehouse or factory, where metal and exposed brick cover the walls and ceiling. Industrial lighting like festoons or open bulbs dangling from the high ceilings can really add the wow factor to your blank canvas venue. Pairing industrial style with wild, opulent flowers makes the most beautiful combination of industrial boho style. If you’re budget is more limited, fear not, use more candles instead of flowers and cluster different sized candles hurricane lanterns and geometric terrariums to enhance the industrial beauty that is your wedding. Metallics are key in bringing this look to life, so incorporate copper or gold into your wedding palette to add a little chic.
